The Freixenet Group incorporates Meritxell Parera as Head of Wine Procurement
Miquel Salarich assumes a new professional challenge at our Gloria Ferrer winery (USA)
We are proud to announce the incorporation of Meritxell Parera in the position of Head of Wine Procurement, replacing Miquel Salarich, who is embarking on a new adventure at Gloria Ferrer, our winery in Sonoma, California (USA), as Production and Viticulture Manager & Procurement and member of the Executive Committee
Miquel Salarich, has developed an outstanding career of more than 20 years at the Freixenet Group. He has worked as winemaker and technical manager at the wineries Valdubón (Rivera del Duero), Freixenet (Penedès, Spain), Finca Ferrer (Argentina) and Segura Viudas (Penedès, Spain). During this period he has developed different important projects and jobs within the framework of our company, this journey has allowed him professional growth, but also personal growth for which he feels very grateful.

For Miquel, Gloria Ferrer represents a new professional challenge where his mission will be, among other things, to adapt the winery to the new times, but also a family challenge. It is a different reality in which many things will have to be learned and started all over again, for him and for his family. He faces it with enthusiasm and respect.
Meritxell Parera has a degree in Agricultural Technical Engineering with a specialty in Food Industries from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and a degree in Oenology from the Rovira i Virgili University. In addition, she holds a master’s degree in Quality Management in Agri-Food Companies from the University of Barcelona and a postgraduate degree in Management of Wine Companies by the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Meritxell is certified at level 3 WSET. On a professional level, she has solid and extensive experience in leading wine companies. Now, she embarks on a new challenge as Head of Wine Procurement for the Freixenet Group.
Meritxell faces this new challenge with enthusiasm and decision, it is a new experience in which she will grow and in which she wishes to contribute her grain of sand to help continue strengthening the company. For Meritxell, working at the Freixenet Group means: “Always being innovative and creative, thinking of new proposals for the market and empowering the usual brands that continue to be at the forefront. It means that the road ahead is infinite, that there are always multiple projects underway and that the people who make up the group are always leaders in their positions”.
